-Readers Build Good Habits
During this unit, we will establish procedures for learning during mini-lessons, turning and talking with partners, independent reading and partner reading. Students will learn different ways to read texts and build stamina while reading independently. They will also learn to retell both narrative and informational texts.
-Tackling the Tricky Parts
This unit helps students to decode unfamiliar words with a variety of strategies. Students are introduced to “Read to Someone” in the Daily 5 framework. Partnerships work together to coach each other through tricky word strategies and retelling a text.

-Launching Writer’s Workshop
This unit gets students right into writing while establishing the procedures of our Writer's Workshop.
